We are sending home packets today for the students to do. They are due Wednesday. This is a precautionary measure due to the upcoming weather pattern that we are seeing. If the students do the packets, they will be counted as being in school. If the packets are not completed then the student will be considered absent for those day.
Dear Parents and Guardians of McNary Students:
We had an incident today at the school where a student put a pencil in a microwave
and caused smoke and fumes to immerse the classroom. The classroom was cleared and ventilation was put into the classroom. The fire department along with EMS was called to the school to help with the incident. A few students and a staff member had symptoms arise from this incident. These symptoms were dealt with on site by the first responders. The school board along with the administration and security have taken action against the students involved.

McNary School will be on a 1 hour delay tomorrow, Friday, January 11th. School will start at 9:00AM and have a 1:30PM release time for all students. The bus will be running the regular route but 1 hour later. Again, McNary School will start at 9:00AM.
Students are being released at 8:35AM due to the increasing weather conditions. We want all our students and staff to be safe. Again, students are being released at 8:35AM.
There will be a 2 hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, January 10th due to the very low temperatures expected. Your student's safety is our main concern. School will start at 10 AM. The bus will run its regular route 2 hours later than normal.

All McNary students received hooded, zipped jackets today. We highly suggest that you label the jackets with your child's first and last name in case they lose or misplace their jackets. The jackets are all the same.

The basketball games that were scheduled for today, November 30th at JFK has been rescheduled to Wednesday, December 6th at JFK.
The basketball game scheduled tomorrow, Friday, December 1st with Alpine has been cancelled due to the road conditions. This game is rescheduled for Wednesday, January 10th.
Today's game for 5th and 6th grade has been cancelled.
Tomorrow's game at Alpine is pending due to weather conditions.
McNary School is currently in a modified lockdown. This means that students will not be able to go outside of the building. Regular school classes will still be held. This is due to the unsafe conditions around the counties.
